Wilbert (Lil Wilbert, Gee, Bumpsy) Shorty, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2011, after a brief illness at West Jefferson Medical Center. Son of the late Mary Orelia Hudson and Wilbert Shorty, Sr. Stepson of the late James H. Hudson, Sr. Brother of Adrine H. Jason, Derrick A. Hudson, Sr. and the late Herbert Shorty and Grelyin A. Hudson. Beloved companion of Virleen Anderson. Nephew of Gwendolyn McDonald, Darlyn S. Simmons, Maudess S. Watson and Stella L. Shorty. Devoted friend of Nick. Also survived by 8 stepchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 69 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion B.C. of Crown Point, Second St. John, Mt. Calvary, Mt. Hermon, Evening Star and Regular Baptist Churches, priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Crescent City Compton Cable Co., and Oasis Hotel are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, La. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Keith P. Stewman-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Evening Star #1 Cemetery- Harvey, La. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, La.
