Lee Esther Cornish

Lee Esther Cornish affectionately called Grandma Lee entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 17, 2011. She was a member of Moonlight Gospel Singers. Wife of the late Horace J. Cornish, Sr. Mother of Warren (Valerie) Schexnayder, Jr., Larry (Linda) Cornish, Sr., Joyce Cornish, Linda C. (Melvin) Tyler, Patricia C. Morris, Horace J. (Wilma Jean) Cornish, Jr., and Gregory (Gwendolyn) Cornish. Grandmother of the late Jarrett Sumler. Daughter of the late Josephine Crawford and Henry Hall. Sister of Vernon Crawford of Los Angeles, Ca. and the late Lorraine Shields, Golden Morris, and Samuel Crawford, also survived by 45 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended grandchildren other relatives and friends. Age: 81 years a native of Bruly, La., a former resident of Donaldsonville, La. and a resident of New Orleans, La. for over 60 years. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Sixth Baptist Church and neighboring churches. Employees of LSU Health Science Center, LA State Office of Family Support, TCI Trucking, Catholic Charities, TCA, and New Orleans Fair Grounds are invited to attend the funeral service at Sixth Baptist Church 928 Felicity St. New Orleans, La. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. at the above named church.
