Rev.Talton Willie Lewis

Pastor Emeritus Talton Willie Lewis entered into eternal glory on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 9:37a.m., followed by a long illness, surrounded by family. Pastor Lewis served as Pastor of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church for 39 years until his retirement on November 23, 2003. Beloved husband of the late Clara E. Lewis. Devoted father of Louise Lewis, Victoria Lewis and Dianne Lewis (Ted M.) Vinet . Son of the late Harry Lewis Sr. and Victoria Clark Lewis. Grandson of the late Arthur and Victoria Lewis. Brother of Beatrice Lyons, Dorothy Mae Lewis, Elvina Westley and the late Ceola Pierce, Ethel Mae McKennies, Harry Jr., Melvin and Alvin Lewis, also survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends. Age: 89 years a native of Gretna, La. and a resident of Harvey, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Joseph Missionary B. C. and all neighboring churches, officers and members of Westside Missionary Baptist Association; employees of Avondale Shipyard and Jefferson Parish Assessors Office and Jefferson Parish Courthouse are invited to attend the wake service at St. Joseph Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, La. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7:00p.m., visitation will begin at 5:00p.m. Final homegoing service on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 10:00a.m. under the auspices of the Westside Missionary Baptist Association.
