Gary Lee Leige

Gary Lee Leige, age 55, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, La., surrounded by loved ones. He was a graduate of Alabama State University where he was a member of the ASU Hornet marching band and Southern University of New Orleans, earning a degree in photography. Gary also served his country as a member of the United States Army. His passion has been music most of his life, mastering various instruments from trumpets to bass guitar. Beloved and devoted husband of 25 years to Vanessa Leige. Loving father of Cedric Ballad, Robert (Cherrie) Beasley, Devin and Erika Leige. Grandfather of Dominick and Gavin Beasley and Zoei Leige. Son of the late Earl Grayson and Josephine Livingston. Brother of Earl (Janice) Grayson, Jr., Larry (Mary) Leige, Charles Livington, Jr., Marilyn (Kenneth) Peoples and Tia Grayson. Brother-in-law of Veronica (Herman) Carter, Jacqueline (Robert) Johnson, Paul Johnson and John Williams. Godfather of Jayla, Earl and Mia; also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friend of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Paul Baptist Church, Jesus is Lord Evangelist Ministry, Life Center Cathedral, and Second Mount Everett Baptist Church; employees of Hampton Inn, Video Ventures, Barkan and Meizlish Law Firm and the medical staff of Ochsner Medical Center (Jefferson Hwy) are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at St Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St. Gretna, La. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Orin Grant, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time.
