Michael (Heatwave, Gus) Stevenson entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Ochsner Medical Center in Gretna, La. Companion of Roberta Clark. Stepfather of Virginia Lewis of Tx. and Dr. Samori Carmara of N.O., La. Beloved son of the late Theresa Brooks and Walter Stevenson, Sr. Loving brother of Walter, Jr., (late Rebecca), Anthony (Donna), Fred (Lisa), Craig (Tara), and Gwendolyn Stevenson, Drusilla (Roy) Davis, Vanessa (Clifford) Jiles, Yvette (Corey) Clark, Karen (Charles) Washington, and Yolanda (Michael) Lewis. Grandson of the late Beatrice F. and Freddie Stevenson, Theresa D. and Fred Brooks. Beloved nephew of Lillie Mae Williams, Laura LaFrance, and Helen Franklin. Godfather of Ivan Wright, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Age: 51 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Belle Chasse, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Israelite B.C., Mt Zion B.C. and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Israelite B.C., 144 Villary St. Belle Chasse. La. on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Kenneth M. Parker, Sr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above church.
