Samuel "Seal" Holmes, age 71, a retired cement finisher, left this earthly life without any suffering on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his residence. He was a native of New Orleans, La. and a lifelong resident of the Cutoff Community of Algiers, La. Loving and devoted friend of Louella Lewis, her children and grandchildren. Beloved father of Regina (Bruce) Letman of Houston, Tx., Antionette (Leslie) Legaux and Susan (Paul) Hunter of Dayton, Tx. Son of the late Clarence Holmes, Jr. and Zelma Banks Davis. Stepson of the late Calvin Davis. Brother of Shelia Phillips, Deborah Devore, the late Clarence Holmes, Jr. and Zelma Clark. Nephew of Barbara Banks of Lafayette, La. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 6 nieces, 8 nephews and a host of cousins other relatives and friends.
