Gwendolyn Joseph Townsend transitioned into eternity on Friday, February 8, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Devoted and loving wife of Larry Townsend. Cherished mother of Monique and Dwayne Townsend and the late Toni Townsend. Sister of Peggy Pierre and Douglas Joseph, also survived 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 7 uncles, 1 aunt, and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters in law, brothers in law, other relatives and friends. Age: 59 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Harvey, La. Relatives and friends also pastors, officers, and members of Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Second Good Hope Baptist Church, and neighboring churches. Employees of Ochsner Medical Center Kenner and Kencoil , Inc. are invited to attend the Homegoing Celeberation of Greater Mt. Calvary Church 1600 Westwood Dr. Marrero, La. on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Elder Terry Gullage, Sr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
