Bernetha Boyd Walters

Bernetha "Jean" Boyd Walters, a registered nurse, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was a graduate of LSU Medical Center, University of South Alabama and the University of Phoenix with degrees in nursing. Jean as she was affectionately called by family and friends was a member of the Healthcare Ministry, Leadership Team, and Marriage and Enrichment Fellowship at Second Zion Baptist Church in Marrero, La. Devoted wife of Rev. Calvin A. Walters. Loving mother of Dr. Renetta Walters (Kevin) Allen, Chenelle Walters (Mark) Lecoq and the late Calvin Walters, Jr. Daughter of Cloretha B. Row and the late Timothy Boyd, Sr. Sister of Rev. Timothy Boyd, Jr., Charles K. Boyd, Aaron Row, Sherri Boyd McFadden, Daryl Boyd Duplessie and the late Nedra Boyd Whitney; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 68 years a native of Westwego, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion B. C., Holy Hill B. C., Little Zion B. C., St. Paul B.C., New Zion B. C., New Testament B. C., and all neighboring churches; Lincoln High School Class of 1962; employees of West Jefferson Hospital, Manhattan Manor, New Orleans Home and Rehab Center, Delgado Community College and members of Nightingales Social Club are invited to attend a Musical Tribute on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 7:00p.m., and Funeral Service on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 10:00a.m., at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave., Marrero, La. Pastor James Nelson Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until 10:00a.m., on Saturday, February 23, 2012 at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery- Avondale, La.
