Florence "Velma' Johnson, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Beloved wife of 74 years to the late Isreal "Mano" Johnson. Loving mother of Isreal Johnson, Jr., Lionel Johnson, Sr. and the late George Johnson, Sr. Daughter of the late James Broden and Florence Mitchell Broden. Grandmother of Isreal Johnson, III, George Johnson, Jr. and Mark A. Johnson, Sr.; also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives friends. A native of St. James, La. and a resident of Avondale, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, Mt. Hermon Baptist, Household of Faith Church, St. Luke Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Second Bethlehem Baptist Church, 7012 Colopissa St., New Orleans, La. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Travis A. George-officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery- Avondale, La.
