Gladys Hayes Carter, a retired factory worker, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 8, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Wife of the late James Rook Carter. Mother of Margaret C. (John) Taylor of Avondale, La., Martha C. (Johnny) Ware of Baton Rouge, La., the late Caroline C. Maiden, and an infant son. Daughter of the late Willie and Nonie Hayes. Sister of John Hayes Woods of Woodville, Ms., the late Lucille Claiborne, Willie Hayes, and James Hayes. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age 92 years. A native and resident of Woodville, Ms. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Oak Hill First Zion Baptist Church, Heavenly Star Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Oak Hill First Zion Baptist Church, Woodville, Ms. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 12:00p.m. Interment: Hunter Family Cemetery, Woodville, Ms. Arrangements by Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA Assisted by Winnfield Funeral Home.To view and sign the guestbook go to www.davismortuaryservice.com
