Gladys Hayes Carter, a retired factory worker, entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 8, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Wife of the late James Rook Carter. Mother of Margaret C. (John) Taylor of Avondale, La., Martha C. (Johnny) Ware of Baton Rouge, La., the late Caroline C. Maiden, and an infant son. Daughter of the late Willie and Nonie Hayes. Sister of John Hayes Woods of Woodville, Ms., the late Lucille Claiborne, Willie Hayes, and James Hayes. Also survived by 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age 92 years.
