Queen Ella Jackson, a homemaker, departed this life on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. Wife of the late Sherman Jackson, Sr. Mother of John Henry, Raymond Maynor, Andrew Jackson, Mabel Peterson, Wilhemia Wilkerson, Paulette Cornin, Vonzella Wilkerson, Gaynell Thomas, the late Sherman Jackson, Jr. and Carrie Mae Porter. Daughter of the late Patsy Jenkins. Preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother. Also survived by 29 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 90 years. A native of Milan, GA and a longtime resident of Algiers, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, Algiers, LA on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Taza Green, Sr., officiating. Visitation from 8:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. ONLY. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA. Arrangements by DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, INC., 230 Monroe St., Gretna, LA.
