Phillip Hughes, a retired pharmacist, departed this life at River Region Hospice on Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Husband of Mary Steib Hughes. Father of Paris Arielle Hughes, Lindsey Gordon Brown, Malani Gordon Gilmore, Phillip Hughes, Jr., Shannon Hughes Roussell, and Jennifer Hughes Harrell. Son of the late Joseph H. Hughes and Ruth Ella Hughes. Brother of Richard Lloyd, Harold Lloyd, Rodney Hughes, Peter Hughes, Melvin Hughes, Irma Lloyd Henry, Sandra H. Collins, Gail Hughes, Anna Mae Sheaffers, Augustine Butler, Evelyn Peterson, Vera Hughes, and the late Joyce McGinnis, Jerry Hughes, Rev. Joseph Hughes, Jr., Henry Hughes, and Calvin Hughes, Sr., also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 sons in law, 1 daughter in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 64 years a native of Algiers, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Sidney Joseph Weber, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery-Algiers, La.
