Dianne Watkins Salvant departed this life at 9:15a.m., on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 to begin her journey home with her Lord and Savior to start her eternal life. Beloved mother of Tracy, Travis, Terrance and Trene Salvant. Grandmother of Shion Tyrese Scott, Shi'heem Tyrin Scott, London Travis Salvant, Aniya Williams, Terry Bolds, Tanaya Maxwell and Ernell Smith. Daughter of the late Lucy Salvant and Manual Gains. Sister of Carol (Charles) Bartley, Barbara (Dewight) Holt and Janice (Rev Leslie) Smith. Mother in law of Earl Scott. Godmother of Daja Nae Morris and Walter Tyrone Anderson, Jr.; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom life she impacted dearly. Age: 60 years a native of Plaquemines Parish and a resident of Algiers, La. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Greater Providence Baptist Church, Household of Faith, Life Center and all neighboring churches; employees of Walmart, Orleans Parish School Board, Army Corp of Engineers, Jefferson Parish Juvenile Court and the Archdiocese are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Greater Providence Baptist Church, 623 Newton St. Algiers, La. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Vaughn Kelly, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
