Ruth Medice Fernandez entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 92. She was a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Beloved wife of the late Emerson L. Fernandez, Sr. Loving mother of Emerson L. Fernandez, Jr. (JoAnn ) and the late Kevin Duane and Keith Brian Fernandez, Sr. (Karen). Grandmother of Trecia, Tyra, Dacia, Keith Jr. and Cameron Fernandez. Daughter of the late John Sr. and Margaret Collins Medice. Sister of Leola Medice McBride (the late Stanley) and the late Ethel DeVore (Elijah), Vivian, Lillian, John Jr., Edward, Alvin (Marie) and Joseph Sr. (Ira Mae) Medice. Aunt of Joseph Medice, Jr. (JoAnn), Bishop Cheryl McBride Brown, Andrea McBride Bocage (Edwin), Myrtle D. Fountenberry, Theresa D. Johnson (Herman) Leola Mae D. Harrison (Cleo), Ethel Mae D. Herring, Barbara D. Henderson, Lloyd (Brenda), John (Agatha), Donald (Joyce) and Kenneth Sr. (Eloise) DeVore, and the late Harold DeVore and Albert John Medice. Daughter-in-law of the late Sarozen Fernandez and Pearl Fernandez Schloust. Godmother of Cheryl M. Brown, Mary Ellen McDonald LaSalle and Dorene George. Also survived by a host of great-nieces and -nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priests, deacons, and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; members of K.P.C. St. Rita Court #36, and K.P.C. All Saints Council #36 are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche St., Algiers,LA on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Rosary will being at 9:30 a.m. Interment: Providence Memorial Park Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
