Nelson Henry Waits III

Nelson "Hulk" Henry Waits III, age 35, entered into eternal life as a free man, on Sunday, April 28, 2013 with his family by his side in Baton Rouge, La. Nelson was born in New Orleans, La. on October 10, 1977 the fourth child and only son of Nelson Waits, Jr. and Gwendolyn Waits of Pflugerville, Texas. He was a resident of Harvey, LA. Nelson graduated from West Jefferson High School and attended Delgado Community College. He was previously employed by the law offices of Cardell A. Thomas and Associates and West Jefferson Medical Center. He was the loving father of Elicia Waits and Kobe Coston. His devoted sisters are Aubranell Cheatham (David Jr.) of Harvey, LA, Aretha Waits (Tony Kemp) of Round Rock, Tx. and Dr. Alicia Waits of The Woodlands, TX (Dr. Michael Briscoe, Jr.). He also leaves to cherish his memories his paternal great-grandmother, Florence Cage of Franklin, LA and paternal grandfather, Nelson Henry Waits, Sr. of Avondale, LA. He was the grandson of the late Marguerite Carr Waits, Onita Mitchell and Edward Mitchell, Sr. Also survived by 8 aunts, 9 uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Little Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Little Zion Baptist Church, 433 Avondale Garden Road, Avondale, LA on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, Westwego, LA. We will miss Nelson Waits III, a father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend.
