Shirley "Town" Parker was lifted up to heaven on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 4:45 p.m. at West Jefferson Medical Center. Daughter of the late Ben Parker and Elsie Payne Castle. Stepdaughter of Dorothy Castle and the late Harrison Castle. Mother of Gwendolyn Dillon (James), Keith "Skipper" Parker and Bobby Williams (Kelly) of Long Beach, CA. Sister of Jeanette Franklin of Houma, LA, Evelyn and Doretha Parker and the late Willie Williams and Sandra Parker. Niece of Lillie Parker, Edward and Margaret Payne. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, loving cousin, other relatives and friends. Age 78 years. A native of Houma, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family; also pastors, officers and members of Little Zion Baptist Church #3, Macedonia Baptist Church and Sunrise Baptist Church; employees of Charity Hospital, Catholic Charities, Silo Café and West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson Street, Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Norman D. Smith III, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
