Clifford Steib

Clifford Steib, known by many as "Cowboy" and "Waaby" , age 91, departed this life on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013, at JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center. A native of Vacherie, LA and a longlife resident of Marrero, LA. He was an employee of Celotex and Avondale Shipyard and was a retired carpenter. Beloved husband of Shirley Laurent Steib for 60 years. Loving father of Joseph C. Steib and daughter-in-law, Cristina. Son of the late Sylvester Sr. and Amy Oubre Steib. Brother of Sylvester Steib, Jr., Pierre Steib (Claretta), Marina Saul (Eddie Sr.), Emma Narcisse (Frank) and the late Louvertha Gros, Floretta Gros, Florence Jeffery, LouAnna Lemieux, Amy Saul, Nelson Sr., Hilton Sr., Florian and Calvin Steib, Sr. Also survived by 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church; employees of JoEllen Smith Convalescent Center and Army National Guard are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA at 11:00 a.m. Father Joel Cantones, officiating. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Cemetery, Hwy. 90, Avondale, La.
