Merriell "Joseph" Joell Turner departed this life on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved husband of Martha Harkless Turner. Father of Wayne Joseph Turner (Anita), Donesia Diane Turner (Raymond Stewart, Jr.) and Donald Joell Turner (Tacanesha). Grandfather of Ashley Ariel Turner, Heather Marie Stewart (Cornell Grant, Jr.), Raymond Everett Stewart III, Khadir Rasheed Turner, Donald Saddiq Muhammad and Jasmine Kayla Stewart. Great-grandfather of Taylor Alexandria Grant. Son of the late Joell Turner and Louise Cox Turner. Brother of Robert (Orazella) and David Turner, Gloria Turner and Linda Leggins. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age 67 years. A native of Vicksburg, Mississippi and a resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Holy Hill Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Holy Hill Baptist Church, 1409 Manhattan Boulevard, Harvey, LA on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Leon Hannibal, Sr., officiating. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time at the above named church. Interment will follow at the Holy Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Harvey, LA.
