Willie Mae Thomas Jones, a homemaker, departed this life on Friday, May 17, 2013 at Wynhoven Health Care Center, at the age of 78 years. She was born in Houma, LA and lived in New Orleans, LA for many years, then moved to Jefferson Parish where she resided before passing. She was a member of Progressive Church in Marrero. Daughter of the late Mary McGee Riley and Mitchell Thomas. Beloved wife of Sterling Jones, Sr. Mother of Gregory Nixon, Sr., Kevin Nixon, Sr., Debra Nixon Strane, Dionne Nixon and the late Dwight Nixon. Stepmother of Gilda Smith, Shelia Williams, Nanetta Shelly, Michelle Jones, Jennifer Watkins, Sterling Jones, Jr., Merlin Jones and Cornell Jones. Sister of James Thomas of New Orleans, LA, Harrison Thomas of Los Angeles, CA, Pastor Elward Thomas of Redwood City, CA, Patricia Riley Owens and Naomi Thomas Tucker both of Sacramento, CA; also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Progressive Church and Cornerstone Christian Center are invited to attend Funeral Services at Corner Stone Christian Center, 6550 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, La on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Pastor James Autry, Host Pastor, Rev.
