Rose Marie Jones

Rose Marie Small Palmer Jones was escorted to Glory on Friday, May 24, 2013 from the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, TX. Rose was born to the late George and Vivian Small on March 7, 1935. Wife of the late Vernell Jones. Mother of William (Charlene), Michael (Theresa), Kenneth and Cassandra (Hannibal) and the late Ramona Palmer Edwards. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, church family and friends. The Lord saved Rose in 1972, under the pastorate of the late Bishop J. A. Thompson, and she became a faithful member of the Thompson Temple Church of God in Christ, Gretna, LA where Elder Keith Thornton is Pastor. One of her proudest achievements was becoming a missionary and working on the local, district, jurisdictional, and national levels of the COGIC. After an illness in 2011, Missionary Rose relocated to Dallas, TX to live with her daughter, Cassandra. While there, she attended and was warmly received by the Refreshing Springs COGIC under Pastor Gerald Jones. She retired from Touro Infirmary Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician in 1982. Relatives, church family and friends, also pastors, officers and members of Thompson Temple COGIC and all neighboring churches are invited to attend her Home Going Celebration at Thompson Temple COGIC, 1515 Whitney Ave., Gretna, LA on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Dismissal Service on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. and viewing will begin at 8:00a.m. at the above named church.
