Ethel Mae "Maggie" Charles Henry, age 76, a retired nursing assistant, peacefully left this earthly life on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 12:01a.m. at her residence. She was a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of the Cutoff Community of Algiers, La. Loving and devoted wife of the late Louis Henry, Sr. Beloved mother of Nora (Walter III), Louis, Jr.(Wendy), Brian, Valisha and Ellery (Christine) Henry and the late Carol and Elroy Henry. Daughter of the late Rev. Frank Charles, Sr. and Charlotte Santiago Charles. Sister of Marguerite (the late Willie) Carter, Dave (Essie Mae), and Bernell (the late Linda) Charles and the late Frank, Jr., Clarence and Jerry (Sylvia) Charles. Granddaughter of the late Benjamin and Della Smith Charles. Niece of Ferdile St. Cyr and Evelina Washington. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, 10 sisters-in-law, 7 brothers-in-law and a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Ashbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Wynhoven Health Care, Serenity Hospice, Wal-Mart (Behrman), Cypress Run Apartments and Kent St. neighbors are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Baptist Church, 2836 Sullen Place, Algiers, La. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Taza Green, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Friends of Charity Cemetery, Algiers, La.
