Laura Elizabeth Thigpen departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at her residence. Wife of the late John Williams and Herman Thigpen. Mother of the late Gertrude Langford. Grandmother of Lloyd, Laura and Carlton. Daughter of the late Gertrude Smith Webb and John Matthews. Stepdaughter of the late Daniel Webb. Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Preceded in death by 6 siblings. Age 96 years. A native of Waterproof, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second St. John Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Second St. John Baptist Church, 242 Avondale Garden Road, Avondale, LA on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Rev.
