Benny Glynn Harris, Jr. "Mickey", a musician and a retired Correction's Training Officer for LTI, departed this life on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Beloved son of Benny Glynn Harris, Sr. and Loyce "Pat" Crain Harris. Brother of Brian Calvin (Trollious) Harris. Also survived by 2 nieces and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 55 years a native of Bogalusa, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Mickey loved sports, played football and basketball at Baker High and graduated from West Jefferson High School and Southern University at New Orleans and was working toward his Master's degree. He played in many bands and for many churches in the community. He was a member of Life Center Full Gospel Baptist Church where he played for the church. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Life Center Full Gospel Baptist Church, St. Matthews United Methodist Church, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, First Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at First Zion Baptist Church, 1221 S. Causeway Blvd., Jefferson, LA on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 12:00p.m. Rev. Thomas Nunnery host pastor / Bishop J.D. Wiley Taylor officiating Visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Garden of Memories Cemetery, Metairie, LA.
