Kenneth Taylor, Sr.

Kenneth "Fat Back" Taylor, Sr., age 57, departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at his residence. Beloved husband of Cheryl Shenall Taylor. Father of Kenneth Jr. and April Monique Taylor and Chassidy Jones. Grandfather of Chloe' and Ashton Porter. Son of the late August Jr. and Willa Mae Taylor. Brother of Leo R. Thompson, Anthony Taylor, Gwendolyn T. Trudeaux, Paula T. Johnson, Amanda Grant and the late August Taylor III. Son-in-law of Ethel Shenall. Brother-in-law of Valerie Shenall and Tyrone (Debra) Shenall. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Kenneth was a graduate of West Jefferson High School and attended Southern University of New Orleans. A former employee of Texaco, LP&L (Entergy), Celotex, MSI and Sears, and also a former basketball coach for King Grant Park and Recreation 9 & 10 year olds. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Progressive Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Progressive Baptist Church, 437 Cohen St., Marrero, LA. Rev. Sterling Mealancon, officiating. Visitation from 8:30 a.m. until service time at the above named church. (NO WAKE). Interment: Evening Star Cemetery, Harvey, LA.
