Nathaniel Wheeler, Jr., a self-employed painter contractor, departed this life on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his residence at 4:30 p.m. He was an Elder at The City of Refuge. Husband of Antoinette Wheeler. Father of Danielle Wheeler, Brandon Nixon, Dannita N. Maluk and Kenyata Hampton. Son of the late Nathaniel Wheeler, Sr. and Lucille Wheeler. Brother of Lynn, Gwendolyn, Brenda, Betty, Beverly, Jamella and Sonya. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age 60 years. A native of Lockport, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of The City of Refuge and all neighboring churches are invited to attend Funeral Services at The City of Refuge, 1938 Stumpf Blvd., Gretna, LA on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Profit Charles Morton, officiating. Visitation at the above named church from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Interment: Greater New Fountain Baptist Church Cemetery, Lockport, LA.
