Florence Harris Gable Duckett, "she fought the good fight and she has finished her couse" and was called home to glory on Monday, July 29, 2013 at age 91. A native of Darrow, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Wife of the late Kermit Washington and Oscar Duckett, Sr. Cherished mother of George "Zeno" Washington, Delores Marshall, Oscar Duckett, Jr., Robert Duckett, Gloria Duckett, Melinda Bell, and the late John Washington, Birdie Mae Johnson and Lionel Duckett. Daughter of the late Felix Harris, Sr. and Virginia G. Harris. Sister of Madora Harris, Cleo H. Simmon, Christina H. Hill, Juanita Harris, Lequisha Harris, Esther H. Green, Clinton Harris, Vernon Harris, Byron Harris, Allen Harris and the late Jessie and Felix Harris. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Florence lived a good and faithful life and was a strong prayer warrior. She traveled on missionary trips to Africa, St. Croix, the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and Belize. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of True Hope Church of God in Christ and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Services at True Hope Church of God in Christ, 1228 Cohen St., Marrero, LA on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above named church.
