Charles (Preacher Man) Lestrick, Sr., a retired truck driver Jefferson Parish Sanitation Department, departed this life at his residence on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Father of Verna Lestrick (Willis) Reed, Charles (Monica) Lestrick, Jr., Olanzo Lestrick, and Arthur Lestrick. Son of the late Arthur Lestrick, Sr. and Elsie Smith Lestrick. Brother of Norman Lestrick , Irene Lestrick (Nashid) Salahuddin, and the late Arthur Lestrick, Jr. Devoted grandfather of Leo Lestrick, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 69 years a native of Thibodaux, La. a resident of New Orleans, La. and a former resident of Westwego, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Church of God in Christ Hebrew Israelite and neighboring churches; employees of ADM, Kindred Hospital, Jefferson Parish School Board, Bayside Rehabilitation, Lambert House, Muslim Islamic Community, Martin Luther King Task Force, Lincoln High School Alumni, and Marrero Health Center are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Leon Johnson officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
