Hilton Jacob, Sr.

Hilton Jacob, Sr., age 79, departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at his residence surrounded by family. He was a native of Vacherie, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Hilton was a veteran of the US Army and a retired employee of RTA after 30 years of service as a station master. After his retirement he began his hobby as a shoe specialist in the Poydras Plaza. Beloved husband of 56 years to Audrey Cass Jacob. Son of the late James and Josephine Jacob. Devoted father of Hilton, Jr. and Reginal (Crystal) Jacob. Loving grandfather of Catrena, Gregory, and Joseph Jacob. Great-grandfather of Daijanae Jacob. Ve'Breyon Becnel, and Johnny Allen. Brother of the late Alexander Shepard, Ernest Steib, Claiborne Jacob, Estelle Butler and Aldonia Steele. Godfather of Marlis Harang, Kenneth Morton and David Hunter, Jr. Brother-in-law of Lillie Ewell, Karen Cass, Alice Shepard and Yvonne (David) Hunter; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of RTA and customers of Poydras Shoe Shine are invited to attend the Home Going Celebration at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 10:00am Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr. officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00am until service time at the above named church.
