James Hill

James "Ray" Hill, a retired sandblaster at Avondale Shipyard for 30 years, departed this life at his residence on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 3:45p.m. He was an associate Minister and Sunday School Superintendent at Love and Faith Outreach. Loving and devoted husband of 68 years to Mary Hill. Father of Evangelist Jonnie (Pastor Robert) Walker, Pastor James (Evangelist Mary) Pittman, Willie (Linda) Hill, Barbara (David) Adams, David Hill, Eddie (Gloria) Hill and the late Bobby Ray Hill. Son of the late David and Annie Hill. Brother of the late Johnnie, David, James, and Tommy Lee Hill, Mary Smith, Emma Mae McCaskill, and Minnie Hill. Brother in law of Margaret Hill and James Brister, also survived by 40 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Love and Faith Outreach , Little Zion Baptist Church #3, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson Rd., Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 9:30a.m. Rev. Norman Smith officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
