Ernest Starks, Sr.

Ernest Starks, Sr., a retired longshoreman, went home to be the Lord on Friday, October 18, 2013 at his residence. Beloved husband of Rose Mary Starks by second marriage and the late Marion N. Starks by first marriage. Loving father of Lorraine Robertson, Margaret Shaw, Penny Mickens, Andrea Harris, Daphne Reynolds, Trucretia Starks, Ernest Starks, Jr. and Eric Starks. Son of the late Joseph Starks I and Irene Starks. Brother of Herman, Edward, Ervin, Alvin, Joseph II, and Richard Starks, Ida Brook and the late JC and Peter Starks ; also survived by 8 stepchildren, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Age: 75 years, a native of Assumption Parish and a resident of Harvey, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Homegoing Service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd., Marrero, LA on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 11:00am Pastor Gilbert Barnes, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00am until service time.
