Jessie James Scott

Jessie "Bully" James Scott, Sr., 74 of Marrero, La transitioned into God's eternal presence on Friday, October 25, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Born on December 14, 1938, Jessie was educated, worked and lived in the New Orleans area his entire life. Loving husband of Merrie Noel-McKnight Scott for over 51 years. Father of Rene (Ross), Jesse Jr. (Ursula) and Therrow. Grandfather of Arianna, Jesse III (Destiny), Christian, De'Nai, LaKeisha, Rodney (Danitra), Brenson, Terrell, Darryl, and Diamond. Great grandfather of Patrick, Dillan, Jaela, Ma'Laiya, Nevaeh, Kaylin, and Mari. Son of the late Myrtis Ramsey-Craig and Elder Nathaniel Scott. Brother of Louise Scott, Theresa Craig, Gladys Scott, Loretta (Donald) Moore, Audrey Scott, Delores Scott, Barbara Moore, Frank (Angelina) Scott, Eddie (Linda) Scott, Keith (Paulette) Craig, Kirk Craig and the late Elaine Ramsey, Velma Long and Margaret Grimes. Nephew of Emmett Ramsey and Annie-Bell Davis. Brother in law of Verta (Charles) Mar, and Wilbert McKnight, Sr. also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Friends of the family, congregants of the Fifth African Baptist Church, Prayer Tower Church of God in Christ and Beacon Light Full Gospel Baptist Church; members of Teamsters Local # 270 are invited to attend the celebration services at Fifth African Baptist Church, 3419 S. Robertson St. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Reverend Dale Sanders, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
