Joanne Marie Shaw Montano, age 49, departed this life on earth at West Jefferson Medical Center on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10:50pm with her family at her bedside, expect for her oldest son Bernard who was in Oklahoma in the military. She was a native and resident of Harvey, LA and attended school at Elm Grove Elementary, Helen Cox Middle, John Ehret High, West Jefferson High and Phillips Junior College. Joanne was previously employed with The Social Security Administration, Texaco, Service Merchandise and the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Wife of Victor Montano. Loving and devoted mother of Bernard, Brandon and Steven Shaw and the late Archibald Nicholas Shaw. Stepmother of the late Victor Montano, Jr. Daughter of the late Will and Elizabeth Shaw. Sister of Barbara George (friend Wayne Butler), Marion (Joseph) Woods, Mary Shaw (friend Glen Andalcio; Bernard's godfather), Lucy Shaw (Ronald) Cornelius, Arthur Shaw, Ervin (Nora) Shaw, Wilbert (Diane) Shaw, Michael Shaw, and the late Frederick Shaw, Charles Shaw and Iris Shaw Saylor. Niece of Reyna Antoine (Faye). Daughter in law of Albert and Mary Montano . Sister-in-law of Angelita, Susan, Sandra and Prince Montano. Godmother of Tameka Scott. Best friend since elementary school Diana Sam and her good friends (extended sisters) Andrea Brown, Yvette Batiste and Maureen Barrington; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by 3 aunts and 3 uncles.
