Edward (Bean/Peas) Jones, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2013 surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home, at the age of 81. Edward was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Gretna, LA (McDonoghville). He served his country in the United States Army for eight years in World War II and the Vietnam War. Beloved husband of 53 year to Laverne Bagent Jones. Loving father of Mark (Jacquelyn), Keith (Chanel), and Alton (Connie) Jones, Pamela (Christopher) Johnson and the late Edward Jones, Jr. and Harry Bagent, Sr. Grandfather of Harry (Wanda) Bagent, Tyesha (Terrell) Harris, Tiffany, Keith, Jr. (Tiffany), and Trachell Jones, Keilin Hamilton, Rodney and Remy Johnson, Patrneka, Mark, Jr. and Markia Jones. Great grandfather of Jordan, Antone' Chloe, Gabrielle, Karell, Treton Edward, Hodge Edward, Landon Anthony and Tiaden Larelle. Godfather of Welton Chestnut. Cherished great nephew of Minnie Mae Davis of Sontag, MS. Brother-in-law of Samuel (Glenda) Mitchell and Shirley T. Jones; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Sunrise Baptist Church, Greater Morning Star and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Sewerage Department (Eastbank), Dr. Pepper/Snapple and Jubilee Home Care Services are invited to attend the funeral services at Sunrise Baptist Church 1325 Lebouef St. Gretna, La. on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
