Sylvester Williams, Jr.

Sylvester Williams, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 79. He was a native and resident of Gretna, LA. Sylvester was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School, Texas College in Tyler, TX and served his country for four year in the United States Army. He was a retired employee of the Jefferson Parish School Board having worked as a teacher, coach and disciplinarian. Beloved husband of Gwendolyn Williams. Devoted father of Brandon (Michelle) Landon (Shondra) and Garvin (Lydia) Williams. Grandfather of Alexis Williams, Montoya (Jordan) Wofford, Alana, Deira, Maici, Landon, Jr. and Logan Williams, and Amy (Walter) Stevenson. Great grandfather of Mia Wofford and the late Aiden Wofford. Son of the late Sylvester Williams, Sr. and Nancy Henderson. Brother of Sterling , Gerald, Gary, and Glen Williams and Rosalind Trudeaux; also survived by a host of the other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Boynton United Methodist Church, Gretna United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches; members of United Methodist Men, Texas College Alumni Association and L. B.
