Willie Birden, a retired employee of International Matex Tank Terminal (IMTT) for 30 years departed this life at Canon Hospice on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Maxine James Birden. Father of Willie, Jr., Bryant (Tracy), Carmen, Kendra, and Kendra. Brother of David (Dolly) Birden, Jr., Dolores Birden, Ethel Lou (Thomas) Bell of Milwaukee, Wi., Vivion (Rev. Howard ) Smith of San Francisco, Ca., Genevive Kennedy, and Cathy (Kerry) Gibson, also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 67 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Avondale, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Herman Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral; service at Mt. Herman Baptist Church 3512 Highway 90 West Avondale, La. on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Bishop Sean Elder officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m.until service time at the above named church.
