Sherman Joseph Griffin departed this life on Monday, January 6, 2014. Loving father of Sherman, Shawn, and Natasha Smith, Charlene Guy, Krystina Jarreau, and the late Jaleel Smith and Guy Jarreau. Son of the late Joseph James Surtain and Gloria Griffin. Brother of Theodore Griffin, Jr., Gregory Griffin, Keith Surtain, Charlene Griffin and the late Kevin Griffin, Sr.; also survived by 6 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 54 years a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Carpet World are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Phillip St., New Orleans, LA on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
