Willie Hugh Gilmore, Sr. departed this life at Canon Hospice on Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Husband of the late Susan Mary Dixon Gilmore. Father of Willie Gilmore, Jr., Phyllis Nelson, Clyde Nelson, Patricia Walters, Rudolph Walters, and Geraldine Gilmore. Son of the late Mangold, Jr. and Kathlean Littleton Gilmore. Grandson of the late Mangold, Sr. and Olivia Allen Gilmore, Robert and Syrenthia Winston Littleton. Brother of Pauline Morgan, Linda Morman, Wade Morman, Katie Barkins, and the late Charles Gilmore and Paul Gilmore. Son in law of the late Ivory and Mary Lee Dixon. Brother in law of the late Charles Dixon and Curtis Morgan. Uncle of the late Charles Armstrong, also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 67 years a native of Hazelhurst, MS. and resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, LA. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Gilbert Barnes officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
