Lawrence Jackson Jr. age 63, a retired Welder/Barber peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, March 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was a resident of Marrero, La and a native of Gretna, La. Beloved husband of 35 years to Eunice Brown Jackson. Son of the late Lawrence Jackson Sr. and Gertrude Jasmine Jackson. Loving and devoted father of Jermaine & Monik Jackson and Derrick Brown. Devoted grandfather of DeAndrew, Ajahnae, Domonique, Malachi and Erin Jackson and Darien Newbill. Devoted brother of Janice Jackson Pruitt, Paulette (Easton) Gray, Marsha Jackson Green and Obie (Debra) Jackson Sr. and the late Jessie Mae J. Arties and Lorraine J. Hughes, also survived by a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Sunrise Baptist Church, Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Shiloh Baptist Church of Gretna, Little Zion Baptist Church, Life Center Cathedral and all neighboring churches, employees of Interim LSU/University Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospice are invited to attend the celebration of life at Sunrise Baptist Church, 1325 LeBoeuf Street, Gretna, La. on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin @ 8:30a.m. until the time of service at the above named church.
