George Phillips

George Phillips entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 24, 2014 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. Devoted companion of Betty Umbach. Stepfather of Warren (Heidi), Chad (Lisa), and Fred (Tabby) Umbach. Son of the late Manuel Phillips, Sr. and Delores Dumas Phillips. Brother of Ivy Morton, Margie Phillips, Aubrey Bolden, and the late Lorie Washington, Manuel, Jr., and Joseph Phillips. Godfather of Orlando Washington, also survived by his pet Poncho, 9 step grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 61 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Westwego, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Baptist Church and neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Sewerage Department are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, La. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
