Helen Reese Nelson

Helen Reese Posey Nelson, a homemaker, peacefully departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the age of 75. She was a native of Soso, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Helen was a member of New Home Full Gospel Baptist Church Choir and the Women's Ministry. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Joseph L. Nelson, Sr. Loving mother of JoAnn Nelson Laurent. Daughter of the late Mary Lee Posey and Letoich Posey. Sister of Ida B. Knight of Soso, MS, Ina Jane Knight of Detroit, MI and the late R. C. Posey; also survived by 4 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of New Home Full Gospel Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Home Full Gospel Baptist Church, 1616 Carondelet St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Pastor R. C. Blakes, Jr., officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
