Catherine Woodside Hayes

Catherine Woodside Hayes, a retired dietician for Total Community Action, Inc., passed peacefully at her residence on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the age of 76. She was a native of Vidalia, LA and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Beloved wife of the late Vernell Hayes, Sr. Loving mother of Vernell Hayes, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Brenda Hayes Haywood of New Orleans, LA, Jacqueline Hayes of Dallas, GA, Hope (Cardenas) Gant of Atlanta, GA, Jerome Hayes of Houston, TX, Alice Hayes and Furnell (Danielle) Hayes both of New Orleans, LA and Tyrone Hayes of Montgomery, AL. Daughter of the late Junius, Sr. and Maudella Woodside; preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Also survived by 4 brothers, 3 sisters, 22 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Little Zion Baptist Church, 4821 Earhart Blvd., New Orleans, LA on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Walter Hardy, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m until service time at the above named church.
