Gertrude Baptiste departed this life at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 57. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA. Loving wife of Cornell Baptiste, Sr. Devoted mother of Shelita (Vincent) Phillips, Cornell Baptiste, Jr., Dawnyell Baptiste and Shawntell Baptiste. Daughter of the late Cannie Mae Smith and Ruben Smith, Sr. Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother; also survived by 1 grandchild, 4 brothers, 1 sister and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Renewal Outreach Ministries and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Renewal Outreach Ministries, 920 Oxley Street Kenner, LA on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 9:30a.m. Pastor Ned, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
