James Batiste, Jr., a retired hospital porter and custodial manager, departed this life at his mother residence surrounded by family on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 9:09p.m. Son of Clara D. Batiste and the late James Batiste, Sr.. Brother of Russel Batiste, Sr., Luester Blair, and the late Clara Fisher and Stella Jefferson. Uncle of Sherise Blair, Keith Jefferson, Russel Batiste , Keith Batiste, Gregory Batiste, and Anthony Fisher, Jr., also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 74 years a native of St. James, La. and a resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and member s of Greater Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Greater Mt. Nebo Baptist Church 1542 Pailet St. Harvey, La. on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00a.m. Rev. Edward Joseph officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, La.
