Russell Batieste, Sr., age 70, departed this life on Monday, July 14, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Russell was a graduate of John H. Martyn High School and a retired 1st Pressman from Dixie Web Paper Company. Husband of Cynthia Batieste. Father of Russell, Jr., Keith, Russell III, and Gregory. Son of Clara D. Batiste and the late James Batiste, Sr. Brother of Luester Blair and the late James Batiste, Jr., Clara Fisher and Stella Jefferson; also survived by 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Melvin C.
