Claude "T-Tan" Florence, a plumber , entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 21, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late Nolie Chopin Florence. Father of Carl "Michael" Florant, Lionel "Foots" Florence, Dianne Florant Harris, and the late MaryAnn Smith. Devoted grandfather of Linda Clofer. Devoted great father of Torin Burns. Son of the late Claude Florence, Sr. and Mary Raphael Taylor. Brother of George Taylor and the late Warren Lee Taylor, Roland Florence, Sentila Blazio, Abbey Swing ,Mildred Armand, Juanita Stewart, and Bessie Mae Roache. Nephew of Cora Champ. Brother in law of Leah Stewart and Orenda Sims-Taylor, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Hospice Compassus. Age: 88 years a native Vacherie, La. and resident of Marrero, La. for over 60 years. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church and pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, and neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Street Department, Jefferson Parish Sewerage Department, Jefferson Parish Public School, Intralox, West Jefferson Hospital, and F. Christiana are invited to attend the mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Father Eugene F. Jacques officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
