Emma Edwards Spencer, a homemaker, departed this life at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center on Monday, July 28, 2014 at the age of 89. She was a native and resident of Gretna, LA. Wife of the late Ernest C. Spencer. Mother of JoAnn Spencer White and Debbie Spencer Johnson. Daughter of the late Gabriel Edwards and Marcella Davis. Sister of Emelda Irvin and the late Richmond Edwards, Thomas Edwards, and Isabella Kearns. Sister-in-law of Jane Ola Young and Willie Coats, Jr.; also survived by 9 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 12:00p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
