Charles McArthur Prater, a retired electrician with Avondale Shipyards, departed this life on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the age of 70. He was a native of Woodville, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved husband of Dianna Edwards Prater. Loving father of LaYionn Dette Prater. Grandfather of Orion Prater. Great-grandfather of Toni Renee Brown. Son of the late Ellis and Aleane Prater. Brother of Jimmie "Johnnie" Prater, Harry Prater, Rosemary Neal, Nancy Douglas, Minnie Pearl Cage, Irma Woodside, Dorothy McKenzie, Rhodi Newman, and the late Ernest Prater; also survived by and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
