Elton Lee Thomas, Sr. cement and brick layer for Archdiocese of New Orleans departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Monday August 4, 2014 at 11:30a.m. Husband of Gail T. Knox -Thomas. Father of Valda (Johnnie, Sr.), Elton , Jr. (Mary), Greg, Kevin (Brooke), Charles, Kenya (Eugene) and Tennille. Son of the late Alvie C. Thomas, Sr. and Eunice C. Thomas. Brother of the late Alvie C. Thomas, Jr, Cecilia Miller, and Antonio Townsend. Son in law of Arthur Phillips. Brother on law of Elton (Virginia) Taylor, Bobby (Raynell) Taylor, and Gilda (Louis) Holmes, also survived by 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 74 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family and employees of Valentine Medical Center, University Hospital, Bayside Health Care, Family Dollar, King Manor Subdivision are invited to attend the funeral service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE 230 MONROE ST.
