Lavor Cavalier Smith

Lavor C. Smith departed this life on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Dayton Community Hospital in Houston, TX after a long battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) at the age of 37. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Houston, TX. Lavor was an avid Saints fan that remained loyal to his team no matter where he resided. Devoted and loving father of Zoe Smith. Beloved son of Cynthia (Eddie) Shepherd and Robert Smith. Grandson of Neola Smith and the late Robert Smith, Jr. and Gladys Smith. Loving brother of Derrick (Telisha) Cavalier, Alvin (Joyce) Cavalier, Geralyn Cavalier ( Patrick) Boudion, Taaliba Cavalier (Tyrone, Jr.) Matthews, Sloane Cavalier, Chanice George and Trenika Fields. Former husband of Marlena Young Smith. Best friend of Cedric Kent; also survived by 2 stepbrothers, 1 stepsister and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins,other relatives and friends.
