Loretta Phillips Ussin entered in eternal rest on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at West Jefferson Medical Center. Loving wife of Sylvester Ussin. Devoted mother of Selton and Syretta Ussin. Adopted mother of Jules (Renee) Washington. Daughter of the late Walter Jr. and Zenola Jones Phillips. Grandmother of Selton Jr. and Sharon Ussin. Sister of Donald (Aubernell) Phillips, Vincent Phillips, James (Shirley) Smith, Jr., Joyce Ann Phillips, Gail P. (Herbert) Brown, Theresa Duplessis, Carrie Miller, and the late Raymond, Walter III, and Joseph Charles Phillips. Niece of Harriet (Ernest) Gaines, Ida Mae (Robert) Williams, Author and Jerry Phillips; also survived by 9 adopted grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Age: 66 years, a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers and members of Rock of Ages B.C., Morning Star B. C., Regular B. C., Ephesus B. C., Little Zion #3 B. C., and all neighboring churches; employees of Huntleigh USA, Delgado Community College, The City of Westwego, Westwego Fire Dept., and members of Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Rock of Ages Baptist Church 6533 Acre Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00am. Rev. Gilbert Barnes, Host Pastor, Rev. Ernest Weber, officiating.
